Credit Counseling important things to remember:
* Use the proper form which can be obtained from this website.
* Must be a non-profit organization and operating more than 2 years.
* Provide tax returns (IRS 990) for the last two years.
* Attach a fee schedule.
* Complete Appendix B - Employee Qualification Matrix.
* Attach employee guidelines, standards & procedures.
* Provide copies of forms used in Credit Counseling.
* If applicant is offering a Debt Management Plan then include:
* copy of current license from the Alabama Securities Commission,
* copy of disclosure given to clients,
* audited financial statements for the preceding 2 years with audit firm information,
* proof of bonding (5% of disbursements) and insurance,
* bank account information.
* All applications must be complete & legible with all attachments, before they can be reviewed.
